Thought Elvis and Marilyn were dead? They were very much alive in Members Equity Bank’s (ME) new Brisbane Branch on Thursday 21 August, 2008, participating in ME’s “Great Rate, Not a Fake Rate” promotion.

Standing at three main intersections in the Brisbane CBD, teams including Marilyn Monroe and Elvis Presley impersonators, ME staff and ME’s mascot, Melvin, greeted city commuters, distributing free ME calculators, each with a unique code. Staff encouraged these people to enter the branch to see if their giveaway was one of 10x$500 ME Online Savings Account winners!

The activity was supported by a ME car convoy, outdoor and press media, which gave ME additional exposure. Those who received a calculator had until 5pm to re-visit the branch to see if they had won and as a result, the branch had an increased amount of lunch time visitors.  There were four winners who were all thrilled by their introduction to ME.
